Symptoms
This is a common problem that starts as kettling, then develops into unacceptable banging noises which can be heard throughout the house.
Boiler noise in central heating systems is usually caused by a build-up of limescale, which has baked on to the heat exchanger, or by a combination of recirculating scale and iron oxide corrosion debris.
If a sample of system water looks dirty or contains iron clean first using X800 Jetflo Ultimate Cleaner with power flushing or X400 System Restorer. See 'Radiator Cold Spots'. If the system water is relatively clear simply add X200 Noise Reducer to the system. This will successfully eliminate noise caused by limescale deposits on the heat exchanger and restore boiler efficiency.
To protect against the further onset of scale and corrosion X100 Inhibitor should be added to the system at the same time as the X200 Noise Reducer. Both should be left in the system indefinitely.
