Symptoms of boiler inefficiency are extended running times of boiler to maintain room temperatures and hot water. The householder may also complain of higher than expected energy bills.

Diagnosis

Efficiency loss is often due to an accumulation of scale deposits and corrosion debris in the boiler heat exchanger which act as insulation and prevent the boiler from effectively heating the water, or to poor water circulation due to the build up of sludge in radiators.

Remedy

Highly scaled systems should be cleansed using Deposit Remover. Otherwise the remedy of choice is to cleanse with X800 Jetflo Ultimate Cleaner in conjunction with power flushing to provide speed and efficiency. Where power flushing is not an option cleanse with X400 System Restorer for 2 hours. When cleaning badly fouled systems with X400, a longer period of circulation (up to four weeks) or power flushing is recommended.

Treatment

After cleansing and flushing, refill while adding X100 Inhibitor together with X200 Noise Reducer to ensure that the system remains free from corrosion and scale deposits and so restore and maintain boiler efficiency.
